TLV320ADC3140: For industrial equipments

Hi Team,

 

Our customer has been considering to apply to industrial equipments.

Looking at the datasheet, temperature range, analog input range, input BW and noise margin is enough.

 

Are there any concern that customer will apply to industrial equipment not audio system ?

If you don’t recommend it, please let us know the reason.

    The TLV320ADC3140 is primarily targeted towards Audio applications, but it's common for Audio ADCs to make their way into ultrasonic systems, SONAR, flow-meters, etc.  There are absolutely no issues using the ADC in a non-Audio application provided the device is used within the limits provided in the datasheet.

    We’ve got some inquires as below.

     

    1. Why could we provide audio ADC with cheaper cost than precision delta sigma ADC ?
      Are there any differences such as dynamic range between audio ADC and precision delta sigma ADC ?
    2. What is defined by in the FS_RATE_STS[3:0] ?
      In my understanding, the resister is status resister for FS_RATE[3:0] customer can configure.
      If the pulse width of FYNC is measured, there would be reference clock.
    3. What is difference between microphone input and line input in the CH1_INTYP customer can configure.
      Customer will use the ADC as input sensor, so they need to make sure what difference is.
    4. What is change in the internal circuit between DC coupling and AC coupling ?
    5. Customer would like to 2ch serial output simultaneously allocating channel 1 to SDOUT and channel 2 to SDOUT2 with FYSNC = 32*BCLK
      If the configuration is possible, how to customer configure the resister ?
