TAS2505-Q1: Multiple-sound Mixing and Continuous Sound Control

Hello team,

1. Based on datasheet, TAS2505-Q1 can support two digital sound mixing (Left and right DACs)

Should I use other solution if I want to mix 4~5 digital sounds? If not, which solution do you recommend?

2. Is it possible to control the volume while generating sound in TAS2505-Q1? 

There is sound control register map in TAS2505-Q1. I wonder whether the user can access this register map to implement gradually decreasing sound on the speaker. Should I change register map for every us or ms seconds or any auto-decreasing sound function in TAS?

    Unfortunately, our audio DACs can only handle two channels at time. They support a TDM mode which can be used to receive up to 8 channels, but only two of them can be used or mixed. If you are looking to mix more channels, you would probably need of an audio codec with integrated miniDSP. I think you may start a new thread asking for some devices such the TLV320AIC3262 or the TLV320AIC3268.

    Regarding the volume control, there are many registers that can be used to increase or decrease the volume (Digital volume: page 0 / register 65; Analog attenuator: page 1 / register 24-25; speaker volume: page 1 / register 46). Instead of modifying the volume each us or ms, I would suggest to configure the soft-stepping function with page 0 / register 63. It modifies the volume in 1 step per 1 or 2 DAC Work Clock Periods.
