[FAQ] TAS2563: What Tuning Tools are Available for TAS2563 in PPC3

The tuning and processing tools available for TAS2563 are Smart Amp Protection, 5-band equalizers, 2-band dynamic range compression, and dynamic equalizer.

In Smart Amp Protection:

• Users can adjust the corner frequency and the filter type of the high pass filter and tune the protection algorithm of each band in terms of priority and speed of thermal and excursion protection
• Example of using a different excursion priority values may improve bass performance

In 5-bands Equalizers:

• There are total of 5 biquad filters for users to tune according to their preference of speaker output frequency response.
• Example of Treble Shelf Filter to boost treble performance

In 2-bands Dynamic Range Compression:

• Users can map the input/output response to to avoid output clipping or high frequency artifacts due to high amplitude input signals of a specific frequency range
• Example of using DRC a extreme ratio as hard limiter to compress the dynamic range of the loud signals

In Dynamic Equalizer:

• Users can compress loud signal at a specific frequency without affecting the frequency response of quieter audio signal.
