TAS5731M: TAS5731M - Processing Latency

Part Number: TAS5731M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760M,

Dear Sir,

What is the signal latency (or processing time) from I2S input to Class-D output for TAS5731M and TAS5760M, with EQ and DRC enabled?

  • Hi CK,

1st thing to be confirmed: the signal latency is from I2S input to PWM switching or I2S input to speaker audio output?

    • I2S input to PWM switching: it's like transition time, which does not include internal DSP process latency.
    • I2S input to audio output: it include both transition and DSP process latency.

As for the I2S input to audio output, different EQ introduces various group delay for different frequency audio content. So it's suggested to measure the time latency especially based on your tuning configuraiton.

    Regards,
    Matthew
