Does TI have hardware that can generate arbitrary sound waveform?

Hi,

Basically I would like to generate chirp audio signal that sweeps from 16Khz to 18Khz. I want to use a micro controller to generate such chirp signal as the control signal, an external hardware connecting to the micro controller which converts the control signal to the corresponding chirp sound wave.

Essentially the external hardware should be able to be controlled by the micro controller and generate customized audio signals.

Does TI have such products can serve as the external hardware?

Thanks for writing to us.

We do have products which can generate the mentioned waveforms with microcontroller from our DAC family of products.

What kind of resolution you are looking at to generate these chirp waveforms? we have products ranging from 12 bits to all the way up to 20bits.

Looking at your application, I suggest having a look at DACx1001 family of devices which will come in 16, 18 and 20bit resolution while pin compatible to each other.
