PCM2912A: IC is getting very hot (70degC) and headphone volume is low, Need solution

Hi we are using PCM2912A IC, facing heating issue and headphone output is low.Output of headphone is connected to amplifier IC TPA2005D1DRBR at the other end for speaker.

    Hello,

    Please share a schematic of your configuration. The PCM2912A should not have issues interfacing with the TPA2005D1 with the proper connections.

    If you disconnect the TPA2005, does the headphone output behave normally?

    We have two designs, with one design only Headphone is used and in other design we use only speaker with help of TPA2005, Problem in both the design is that IC PCM2912A is getting very hot, Attached thermal image for speaker setup within 10 minutes on time, IC reached 55 degC.

    Output of PCM2912A i s given as differential input to Audio Amplifier, Volume is very low and also getting hot very badly.

    Hello,

    We had a number of disruptions come up which prevented responding as promptly as hoped.

    We reviewed the schematic in detail and outside of the 270Ohm microphone bias resistor being a little lower than we usually see things look proper.

    Can you share some scope images of the output waveforms the device is producing when the 55C operation is measured?  Does this happen on all units, or only some?
