PCM1754: Unused pins and quiescent current

Part Number: PCM1754

Hi team,

Our customer is using PCM1754, they need information about how to configure the pin7 VoutL or pin8 VoutR, pin11 ZEROA pins when unused, and quiescent current of the device. Could you help provide above information? thanks!

  • Hi Rashid,

The IQ data is in the datasheet:

The VOUTL and VOUTR pins are the analog voltage audio output pins.  They are specified for a minimum load impedance of 5kΩ, so whatever is connected to them should be relatively high impedance (>5kΩ).

Generally, the output has a low-pass filter on it to attenuate out-of-band noise.  This article discusses the merits of an active filter over a passive filter, but we see the passive RC used in most cases to reduce cost and design space.

The ZEROA output pins can be left floating if unused.
