Hi team,

I would like to know difference between Q1 and non-Q1 products.

the main difference seems closed or open loop.

are there big difference between these two models?

And I also want to know important point to design circuit for each open loop and closed loop.

Hi, Takuya,

The main differences between these two devices is that the TAS2505 has integrated headphone driver (pin 5 is the headphone output) and the operating temperature range. The TAS205 supports a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C and the TAS2505-Q1 supports -40°C to 105°C.

The rest of features and electrical characteristics are the same in both devices.

I understand the difference.

So if they don't care about temp and don't use head phone, engineer can develop the circuit regardless of Q1 or non-Q1.

Is my understanding correct?

Hi, Takuya,

This is correct. We just recommend to use the TAS2505-Q1 version for automotive purposes (in general, the Q1 version means "automotive device"). If the application is not automotive, the engineer can develop the circuit regardless of Q1 or non-Q1 version.

thank you for your support.

Customer is not Automotive so they can use both device.

You can see Q1 product is closed loop, on the other hand, nonQ1 product is open loop.

Does this difference come from head phone driver on non-Q1 device?

Could you tell me where do you see this closed loop and open loop connections in the devices? The speaker driver architecture should be the same in both devices.

Hi, Takuya,

Thank you for the information you provided. I was not aware of these comments in the product folder, but both devices should share the same architecture and structure (with some differences to met the automotive qualification in case of the Q1 version). Both devices should be open-loop.
