TLV320AIC1110: tlv320aic1110 DTMF routing

Hi,

Page 29 of the datasheet states "Tones from the DTMF generator block are present at all outputs and are controlled by enabling or disabling the individual output ports." However the block diagram on page 5 shows the DTMF output being injected downstream of the PCMOUT.

Will the DTMF tones be present on the PCM output also? I need to send it back through the POTS circuit that is on the PCM interface.

Hello Chad,

I think what the data sheet is trying to say is that it can be present on the earphone outs. Looking at the block diagram, it looks as if the tone is going to the DTMF mux.

The block diagram also has a feedback path from after the digital modulator block back to the analog modulator. Will the DTMF be routed back via that path?

This is correct and it seems as though it actually can be routed back. Since this is an older device and I do not have much experience with it, I will have a discussion with another colleague. Though it may be a couple of days before a response is given.
