PUREPATHCONSOLE: Unable to download component MCR installer: HTTP error 408

Part Number: PUREPATHCONSOLE

Hello,

new PUREPATHCONSOLE user here, doing an fresh installation on WIndows 10 laptop.

However downloading the filesduring installation fails with following error message: (please see the image below.)

I tried to look at anti-virus (Avast) and firewall (WIndows firewall) settings, neither of them report anything if I start the installation.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Best,

Mikko

  • Hi Mikko,

Can you please try to download the MCR installer directly from this link?
I just tried the installation on a fresh system and did not got the same issue, it must be a block on the network.

Please let me know if you have any trouble downloading the MCR tool.

  • Hello,

Yes, I can download this MCR file. Do you have an advice, how should I ensure it gets installed properly?

Eg should I store the downloaded file to certain folder prior starting the main installation process, or should I install MCR separatedly, before or after the main installation?

Also, I have an access to another laptop, with fresh Windows 10 installation, I will try the main installation with that PC today.

    Thank you for your assistance!

    -Mikko

  • Hi Mikko,

You can check for the environment variables to see if MCR was installed and configured correctly.

This e2e FAQ contains a set of slides to check the environment variables for your reference: https://e2e.ti.com/support/audio/f/6/t/839973

  • Hello,

    And thank you again!

Actually, I also tried the installation to fresh Windows 10 laptop and it worked.

This got me thinking, so I started disabling parts of my Antivirus (at main laptop) one at the time and see if that would help.

It appears, that the problem is my Avast Premium Security (Paid Subscription) and it's browser protection -feature. When I disabled that, MCR download succeeded. I tried also firewall, which had no impact.

Ok, so this case is now solved, thanks :)
