Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1754,
Hello team,
Does TI have Linux driver for TPA2011 ?
Is TPA2011 software-compatible to WM8524CGEDT from Cirrus?

Hi, Itoh-san,
Is the TPA2011 the correct device? Was there a mistake? This device is all hardware controlled and there's no need to have a linux driver for this device.
Thank you.

Hi, Itoh-san,
I will close this E2E thread for now. But please feel free to post any feedback you receive from the customer. We will be glad to help you.

Hello Luis-san,
Sorry, I was not really checking what customer wants to do correctly.
Let me reword the request.
The customer is designing i.MX 8 based board like TIDA-005038. There's WM8524 as an audio DAC.
I'm trying to replace it with PCM1754 + TPA2011.
The customer cares about the additional SW effort needed for this.
But as PCM1754 and WM8524 are both HW controlled, I don't think customer needs to concern.
Do you think this should work?
Regards,
Itoh
Hi, Itoh-san,
Thank you for the clarification.
Regarding the PCM1754, unfortunately I cannot provide details about this device since it belongs to a different product line. So, I would recommend to start a new E2E thread asking for this particular device. E2E will address you to the right contact.
Regarding the TPA2011D1, I can assist you with the schematic revision if needed. I suggest to include an out-of-band filter ( https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa313a/slaa313a.pdf between the audio DAC and the TPA2011D1. The most part of audio DACs have a high noise content located in the high frequencies band. Even if it is not in the audible band, the TPA2011D1 could amplify the noise level and the harmonics, causing an increase on the THD+N level.
In case you have additional questions about the TPA2011D1, please let me know.
Best regards,
Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
