Class D amplifier control IC, or module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3255

Hi team,

My customer is looking for a device which meets following condition. Could you advise me the recommended solution?

Requirement:

Output voltage : 50V(max)

PWM switching frequency : Hundreds of kHz to several MHz.

A typical class D amplifier control IC seems to have the highest PWM switching frequency of around 100 KHz (for audio applications).
The IC/module we are looking for has a high PWM frequency of a few hundred KHz to several MHz.

STM seems to have a solution such as STA311B+STA516BE.

Regards,

Yamaguchi

  • Hi Takashi,

If they need 50V output, they should select high power devices.

Most PE devices only support up t0 26V.

Can you tell me the detail information of customer application case?

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    Derek

  • Hello Yamaguchi-san,

Can you provide more details on the customer's system requirements? Do they want an analog input or digital input? Is there any specific features they are looking for? What is the load impedance that the amplifier is driving? How many channels are needed?

If they need an amplifier that requires switching up to several MHz, then our automotive devices can achieve just that. However the output signal might be a challenge as most devices can't do 50V output voltage. The TPA3255 can come close but you won't be able to have the PWM switching frequency above 600kHz.
