PCM9211: Application notes on using transmitter and receiver at the same time

Hi team,

I was looking through our documentation on this part and did not see any app notes with info pertaining to using both the transmitter and receiver at the same time. This application will use the device for full-duplex audio and I don't think there should be any issues with this.

Do you know if we have information on using the transmitter and receiver on the same time or am I correct that we don't have info to cover this topic?

    Hi Lauren,

    PCM9211 can certainly be configured to do this and can even transmit data from 1 source to multiple other formats simultaneously, but we don't have an app note that specifically demonstrates this. 

    One thing I would mention is that the main output port is and output only and it must operate in master mode on the I2S bus. If you want I2S input as well you would have to configure one of the MPIO groups as an AUXIN and route the clocks to that port as well as the data.
