TAS5805M: audio noise after power on

Part Number: TAS5805M

Hi Team,

Customer design TAS5805M as audio amp solution in STB application, but face to audio noise(zi-zi noise) after start up.

This audio noise will disappear if we turn up/down sound volume. Could you guide us which items should we check first? Thanks.

BTW, customer have follow with device power up sequence requirement in below pic.

Regards,

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

    It is Zizi noise loud to be heard even when ear is not close to speaker?

    In order to debug:

    1. Can this issue be reproduced 100%? If not, what is failure rate?
    2. Pls check whether we can reproduce this noise in TI EVN with the same setup;
      1. Share the setup for my analysis if can;
    3. Bypass all DSP blocks, eg, EQ, DRC to see whether this noise is eliminated or not;
    4. Pls share the .ppc3 file for my check if it is ok.

    BR,

    Alix Wan.

  • Hi Alix,

    The ZiZi noise is loud to be heard and don't need to getting closer to hear.

    It's a random issue, the failed rate 30%.

    Did you have any idea about this? I am asking for the .PPC3 files to find the potential root cause.

    Regards,

    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

    As you said, then pls capture the waveform of BCLK, SDA, PDN for my check of their power on sequence.

    Further, .ppc3 file is key for double check too.

    Further, when noise comes out, use the enclosed file below for double check: (0x58 is the i2c address, w means write, r means read)

    w 58 00 00

    w 58 7f 00

    r 58 70 04 # read out 0x71 to 0x73 to see whether any errors are reported.

    r 58 68 01
