Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1802
Hi,
My customer is considering using PCM1840 with single-end input.
Signals are inputted to INxP pins.
In this case, how should we terminate each INxM pin?
Best Regards,
Kuramochi

Hi Kuramochi-san,
It is strongly recommended not to drive PCM1840 single-ended. This is because it is necessary for the common-mode input of the device to remain within very tight tolerance and if you try to drive it single-ended the common-mode input will vary significantly and potentially cause significant distortion.
If you want a high performance converter with single-ended input I would consider PCM1802 instead.
Best,
Zak
Hi Kuramochi-san,
PCM1840 needs to be driven differentially. Pseudo-differential still results in wide variations in common-mode.
