DIX9211: How connect Unused pin?

Part Number: DIX9211
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM9211

Hi TI experts,

My client wants to replace CS8422 with DIX9211.

1. When MPIO, RSV pin is not used, how connect them?

2. DIX9211 does not have EVM. Is it possible to review the performance with PCM9211? Is software compatible?

Please check it..

Thanks,

Downey Kim.

  • Hello Downey,

1.) MPIO can be left floating if configured as outputs, or connected to GND if configured as inputs.  Do not connect outputs to GND.

RSV pin configurations are described in the Pin Functions table on pages 7 and 8:

    44 RSV2 – – Reserved; left open
    45 RSV1 – – Reserved; connect to ground
    46 RSV1 – – Reserved; connect to ground
    47 RSV2 – – Reserved; left open
    48 RSV2 – – Reserved; left open

2.) Yes, the PCM9211 is a superset device of the DIX9211 and includes the extra analog ADC input channels.  The DIX9211 is fully register compatible to the PCM9211, just that the PCM9211 has extra registers for the ADC configuration.
