PCM1754-Q1: VCOM cap

Part Number: PCM1754-Q1

Hi team,

Regarding to the bypass capacitor of PCM1754-Q1, it is described as

"Proper power supply bypassing is shown in Figure 30. The 10-μF capacitors should be tantalum or aluminum electrolytic."

Is it OK to use MLCC X7R 10uF capacitor for VCOM instead of tantalum or aluminum electrolytic?

regards,

  • Hi Tsuji,

Yes, you can use ceramic caps for the VCOM and supply pins.  When this datasheet was originally written, there were less low-ESR ceramics on the market.  Now there are many very good ceramics for this application.

    Thanks,

    Paul
