TLV320AIC23: noise questions

Part Number: TLV320AIC23

Hello,

Our customer used TLV320AIC23 for audio application, and he found two noise when debugging, one is the "CiCiCi" sound and another is vibration noise. He tried to change the crystal filter capicitor(20pF to 25pF), the vibration noise decreased but the Cicici noise is always exist.  When he lay a finger on the crystal, the vibration and Cicici noise are both increased. Then he tried to use digital power supply 3.3V,  and board used 5V power, the volume is changed low, and almost didn't hear the sound using headphone. So I am not sure is the power caused the noise, below is the circuit, could you please provide your opinion?

Best regards

  • Hello Kailyn,

I do not see an issue with the schematic. Looking at the power supply, at first the analog supplies were powered with 5V then switched to 3.3V? If so, when the supply was switched to 3.3V the "CiCiCi" noise was gone? The absolute maximum CODEC supply is AVDD + 0.3V where max recommended AVDD is 3.6V so 5V supply would be violating this constraint.

    Regards,
