Low power codec recommend

Hi Team,

I try to find one low power codec which need to sensing a sinus wave from 20Hz to 4KHz and power limit should far more less than 3mW.  Actually I want to detect the frequency of the signal. Do you have any device to recommend or any suggestion for system solution are appreciated.

Best Regards,

Tess Chen

  • Hello Tess Chen,

I am not sure that we have a device with that low of power consumption. Most of our "simple" CODECs (No programmable miniDSP) will consume ~14mW with playback at 48kHz. There is an ultra low power bypass mode where the inputs are bypassed to the outputs and most of the internal blocks are powered down.

For a frequency detector, I might recommend a part like the LM567C. I do not support this device so I cannot comment on any device specific details.

    Regards,
