TLV320AIC3107: Regarding Terminal Processing

Hello team,

My customer is considering to use TLV320AIC3107.

Please tell me the terminal processing when the below ports are unused.

34pin ・・・ MCLK
38pin ・・・ DOUT
32pin ・・・ GPIO1
3, 6, 9pin ・・・ LINE terminal
14, 15, 17pin ・・・ HIP terminal
19pin ・・・ LEFT_LOP
* They would like to know which of PullUp, PullDown, and NC is the best.

Hello Sakai-san,

MCLK, DOUT and GPIO when unused can be left as NC. LINE/MIC inputs when unused should be AC coupled to GND using a 0.47uF capacitor. Note that the unused LINE/MIC inputs can be tied to a single capacitor to GND to save board space. Unused analog outputs such as HPOUTS and Left/Right_LOP can be left as NC.

Could you answer additional question from my customer?

If the LINE terminal is not used, is it okay to connect all the LINE terminals directly to GND?

Hello Sakai-san,

Unused MIC/LINE inputs should never be connected directly to GND. Unused inputs should be AC coupled to GND via 0.47uF capacitor. To potentially save some board space, all unused inputs can be connected to a single 0.47uF capacitor to GND.
