DRV604: Any solution to auto detect load impedance for DRV604

Hi all,

 My customer want to find a solution to switch headphone out and line out by detecting load impedance first. Is there any solution / suggestion in this kind of application? Thanks for your kindly help.

    Hi, Gary,

    Unfortunately, there's no a single IC solution to do this kind of switch. What I could recommend is the TAS2505 with and external detection circuit with an ADC (see diagnostics circuit #2 for details).

    The TAS2505 has the capability to change the output headphone lines to line driver lines. The output circuit may be used to detect the voltage change when the load is connected (this circuit only works when the output is muted).
