PCM2912A: Amending USB descriptors on PCM2912A

Hi All,

A customer of mine would like to amend the USB descriptors on this part, the datasheet and the user manual say it can be done, the datasheet states: USB descriptors can be modified on request, but fails to state the process. He is a significant user (50K units+).

How do we get this amendment to these devices?

Are you absolutely sure it's a custom mask, it seems highly unusual to have a custom mask for what is essentially a few bytes, most semi manufacturers stopped doing that in the 90's, anecdotal comments suggest it can be programmed post final test and there are two unidentified test pins on the device that would usually be used for this purpose, if we had the data format we could arrange for the devices to be programmed at the customers risk, This is an opportunity for 200K+ devices, so worth a bit of effort.if it can be done.

Hi David,

I can confirm that all information that's been presented to our applications team about these products confirms this capability is no longer available in our PCM29xx USB Audio devices. We understand this is not what you were hoping for but if it is a requirement in your application you may need to look for another option.
