PCM3070RHBEVM-K: EVM Name not Correct

Working with PCM3070 eval board. When running console, the EVM is misidentified (see image below). Acquire Device makes no change. No Windows pull down options.

Any suggestions why this is happening?

Hi Phil,

This is a common error and happens on some PCs when not running the software as the "Administrator". Right click on the software and "Run as Administrator" and it will work.

Well, it worked better, yes. However, it still shows the EVM as a TLV320 product.

How is the console acquiring the device name? Do we know this?

Hi Phil,

The PCM3070 and TLV320AIC3254 are functionally equivalent and the PCM3070 has a subset of the AIC3254 registers so the GUI should function correctly even if it's not registering properly.

I believe the actual mechanism is an EEPROM on the EVM board that identifies the installed device, perhaps it was slightly incorrectly programmed.
