TPA3123D2: Inductance whistling

Part Number: TPA3123D2

Hi Team,

We used schematic on page 1 of the datasheet, but it has the problem of inductance whistling at its output. The higher the current is, the louder the sound is. The frequency of the whistling is the same as that of the output sound source.
Could you give us some advices?

Beat Regards,
Tom Liu

  • Hi Liu,

Can you provide the inductors datasheet?

Perhaps using an inductor made with different materials would help reduce this whistling phenomenon you are experiencing.

  • Hi Robert,

    Thank you for your reply.
The attached is the datasheet of inductor.
It will be very helpful if you can give us some advices.

  • Hello Tom,

At high output power, you might hear some noise from the inductor as the current through the inductor changes which can manifest in vibrations or sound. You can try different inductors that have a core/winding vacuum varnished, but this is a property of some inductors that if there is a high current change that it can result in noise.

    Best regards,
