PUREPATHCONSOLE: PurePath Console 3 is not opening on Windows 10, but it was working properly

Hi Team,

Our customer's PurePath Console 3 is not opening correctly on his Windows 10 computer, but it was working properly with the same computer approx. 2 to 3 months back. They tried to run as admin, uninstall and reinstall the console, as well as contact their IT for support. None of them can make the purepath console 3 running correctly. 

I already shared this e2e thread as 1st solution to the customer. The customer uninstall and reinstall with the mentioned package, as well as check the path. They are all good but the PP3 is still not running correctly. The PP3 initializing screen shows up after he double click the PP3 icon, then it closed out itself after a second. :

    Do you get any error message when running PPC3? Or what is the behavior customer is seeing?
    What are the apps customer has access to? Is the problem with PPC3 or a specific app?

    I am the one encountered this problem.

    There were two screens showed up after I double click the PPC3 from the menu.

    After the second screen, it closes right away.

    I'll try on a fresh Win10 system. During your PPC3 installation, is Matlab Runtime Compiler installed? Are you installing within a corporate network?

    This was the email i send you through your directly email on last Thursday, but I have not heard back from it.

    I checked my computer, the Matlab complier runtime 7.16 is installed, see below.

    No, the PPC3 is installed locally in my computer, but it is under my corporate network.

    I apologize for the late response. I will also reach out to you over email to follow up.

    I noticed you have access to TAS5825 but it seems you cannot see it available for installation. Also you mention this is your computer but it is under corporate network. Perhaps the firewalls or other protection from corporate network is not letting PPC3 communicate with the servers.

    Is there a chance you can connect from an external network?
    If not possible, perhaps an offline installer might help. However TAS5825 belong to a different group than mine so I'll need to ask their attention on this.

    I was using the PPC3 with TAS5825 couple months ago, that's the last time my PPC3 was still running properly on my computer.

    Due to the uninstall and re-install process, the TAS5825 content probably is moved.

    As long as the PPC3 can runs properly, then I think we can get to the next group for TAS5825.

    Do you have any detail steps for have the PPC3 to performs the offline install? I need detail information to try this out.

    For the firewalls or network protection, what information should i forward to my corporate IT to have them look into it? Please advise.

  • Hi Gilbert,

    I'm checking about the offline installer with mid power audio team. This installer is similar to PPC3, but it only has one app (TAS5825) and it cannot connect to our servers to download more plugins.

    Usually the PPC3 installer asks for proxy details if you have one, I think you can input this information during installation and probably it should be able to connect.

    I'm communicating with our software and mid power audio teams to provide an offline installer.
    Regarding the proxy settings, I noticed the latest PPC3 installer does not mention the proxy settings as it did before, I'm also checking this with our software team.

    OK, thanks for that.

    In fact, I tried to do a fresh install to my laptop at home, which is out of the company network and firewall etc.

    I tried both use the proxy or not, the following error message popped up, stated unable to download component MCR installer.

     

     

    In addition, I tried to ignore this component download and the PPC3 installed successfully, I can login successfully too.

    Unfortunately, there is an alert for the “Installed EVM Apps”, so it is supposed to download the platform update, but it failed, see below.

     

     

    Alright, this is something you should look into.

    On the other side, I will contact my IT to fix the networking issue.

    Please find out and see what is going on with the platform update.

    This is odd, we have not received any other feedback similar to yours in terms of having issues to connect to MSS, I'll communicate this to our team.

    I can currently using the offline version to work on at the moment.

    I think the most critical item is about my company network, but this is hard for me to explain to the IT what needs to be done.

    Because I don't know how this PPC3 access the network or what information I need to let our IT knows.

    If you have any info, please let me know. Meanwhile, I will try to fix this on my end at the moment.

    Perhaps the PPC3 app needs to be included in a firewall list to allow any required access.
