TPA2028D1 Enable Pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2028D1

Can the enable pin (center ball) of the 3x3 BGA TPA2028D1 be tied directly to PVDD or AVDD  for an always on state in order to eliminate the need for the 3 mil escapes that make manufacturing so expensive? Datasheet was not clear on this.

  • Jason,

    Certainly!

HOWEVER, I don't recommend it. Lots of time, you have to keep the amp SD while the rest of the system is powering up to prevent transients generated in circuits up stream of the amp from getting amplified (we can't tell the difference between music and pops/clicks/noise). So, I would recommend you bring this out if the part is being used in a complicated system to ensure power-up/down is clean.
