PCM2900C: linux driver

Hi team，

1. I see that the linux driver of PCM2900C is not released on TI website.

Do we have relevant materials about the use of PCM2900C under linux system that can be provided to customers?

2. The Device class in the datasheet of PCM2900C is 0, but my customer think normal usb audio class type should be 1. Could you please help give some comments? My customer is confused about this.

Hi Ivy,

There are no separate drivers for Linux for this device but I believe the USB audio class is incorporated into the Linux OS so it should interface without needing any additional drivers. Our USB audio codecs are class type 1.

I believe this is just a separate descriptor for the device and does not relate to the audio subclass.

Hi Zak,

I'd like to check a question with you.

Can PCM2900C be recognized as working as an audio device as long as the UAC1.0-enabled driver is turned on the Linux system on the USB host side?

As I understand it, the Linux supports UAC1. Kernel Configuration UAC1 devices are supported by turning on "config_SND config_SND_USB_audio_".
