TLV320AIC3109EVM-K: USB-MODEVM driver install failure

Part Number: TLV320AIC3109EVM-K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3104-Q1

Hi Team,

Now I'm trying to test TLV320AIC3109EVM-K in WINDOWS 10 OS base.
Successfully installed AIC310x GUI and updated NI VISA, but failed to install USB device driver as below.
I'm not sure it needs Administrator right to install the driver but it's lock to install it by TI policy?

Tried to install at USB-MODEVM with USB-MODEVM_vista&7.inf, USB-MODEVM_WDM.inf  files several times but failed, and also can't detect it at GUI(TLV320AIC3104-Q1) too.

Please let me know how can install USB driver?

  • Hello Lenny,

Sorry to see that you are experiencing some trouble here. Before installing the drivers, was the Windows driver signature enforcement disabled? These drivers are not signed and Windows 10 requires the drivers to be signed. The driver signature enforcement can be disabled by following the steps below:

    1. Got to Windows Settings

    2. Click on Update & Security

    3. Go to Recovery tab on the left

    4. Go to Advanced startup and restart the PC

    5. Then go to Troubleshoot --> Advanced Options

    6. On the bottom of the window, click on See More Recovery Options

    7. Start-Up settings --> Restart

This should disable the driver signature for windows and restart your PC. The USB-MODEVM drivers are not signed and this seems to cause problems when trying to install the drivers. I recommend following the above steps and re-install the drivers.

Additionally, can you also provide an image of the EVM so I can ensure that SW-2 is in the correct position?

  • Hi Aaron,

    Thanks for your support.

I've tried to follow this guide but failed to re-start for BitLocker recovery, it needed recovery key from IT Team and finally intalled the driver.

Anyway, thanks again for your suport.

  • Hi Lenny,

You are welcome! I will mark this post as TI Thinks Resolved and close this thread.
