Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV320AIC3254, TLV320AIC3262
Dear TI,
I use TLV320AIC3106 be my Audio codec and TS3A227 be my AMP, I am wondering to ask if both parts are Dolby compliant, thank you.

Hello Neil,
I cannot speak for the TS3A227 as I am not familiar with the device but the TLV320AIC3106 is not certified to meet any particular Dolby specification. CODECs with integrated programmable miniDSPs like the TLV320AIC3254 and the TLV320AIC3262 may be able to encode/decode audio data in AC-3 format but I will need to discuss this with our DSP algorithm expert to see if this is feasible.
I recommend creating another post with the TS3A227 in the title to have the appropriate team comment on the TS3A227.

Hi Neil,
Apologies for the delay here. I had some time to discuss with our algorithm expert. Essentially, encoding/decoding compressed audio is not possible with either the AIC325x or AIC326x as it requires too much memory. A dedicated external DSP will be needed.
