TAS2560: TAS2560 Debug

TAS2560 currently encounters the following problems: 

1,At present, the data sheet we have got in hand, the register part is incomplete 

As shown in the figure above, the related registers of book=0, page=50, 51, 52, book=0, page=0, reg=0x49, 0x3c, 0x0d, 0x0e registers, and pdf are not explained. Or there is a tool operation that automatically generates setting registers, which can also be easily adjusted. 

2. Turn on the recording device, and there will be bottom noise on the PA end after closing

3. The I2S audio signal output by the main control terminal is normal, and the audio file is distorted seriously after passing the TAS2560. 

4. Continuously play 350Hz sine wave signal, occasionally there will be frame drop in the middle

    First of all let me ask: Are you using PPC3 to control TAS2560? Are you using the EVM or a custom board? It is recommended to use PPC3 GUI to configure the device, this software will generate all the required register settings based on your selected configuration.

    The registers you mentioned are reserved, and should be generated using PPC3. Most of them are related to the boost and DAC sampling.

    If you're using a custom board, perhaps the clock configuration is not matching your input data and causing noise. I couldn't hear the noise you mentioned clearly, but from the spectrogram it would seem like digital interface configuration is not OK. Please provide the following details:

    • MCLK frequency, if used
    • BCLK and WCLK frequencies
    • Data format: I2S/TDM, bit length
    • Scope captures would be best to check these values
    • Configuration file, either PPC3 or cfg file

    It is expected to have a pilot tone playing at the speaker continuously, this is used to get Isense and Vsense from the speaker, however 350Hz is not the expected frequency, perhaps this could also be related to an incorrect clock configuration thus causing internal oscillator to provide a different frequency to the pilot tone.
