TLV320AIC3204: HID and CID for Windows 10 support

Part Number: TLV320AIC3204

Team,

A customer of mine is using AIC3204 with an Intel CPU. The BIOS Vendor (Insyde) told them they need an HID and CID to correctly initialize the codec. Has our device already been used in a Windows environment, which CID and HID should be used?

Thanks,
  Robert

  • Hello,

To our knowledge these devices have been used in systems that interact with or are used in Windows environments.  We have publicly available Linux drivers (link here) for this product family but any customer drivers have not bee publicly shared and at the time of this posting, TI does not offer custom Win drivers for these products.  In most Win systems there is an "Audio Hub" type device that accepts an incoming USB, HDAudio, or Soundwire input and then converts those signals to the required I2S signals for the CODEC.  Therefore most of the actual OS interface typically happens with the "Hub" device and not the CODEC.  At the time of this posting TI does not offer any Audio Hub type ICs for this function.
