PCM2706C: HOST PIN

Part Number: PCM2706C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM2704C

Hi

Just curious is HOST pin only for more internal LDO current provide to external ROM or some other function?

Thanks

  • Hi,

HOST pin along with PSEL pin is dedicated to selecting the power source. This selection affects the configuration descriptor. While in bus-powered operation, the maximum power consumption from VBUS is determined by the HOST pin (pin21 for the PCM2704C/5C, pin 3 for thePCM2706C/7C). For self-powered operation, the HOST pin must be connected to VBUS of the USB bus with a pull-down resistor to detect attach and detach. (To avoid excessive, suspend current, the pull down should be a high-value resistor.) Table1 summarizes the power configuration select options
