Hi,

We're using the following 2 speaker amplifiers in our existing 2 products.

Speaker Amplifier:
LM4666SD/NOPB
LM48100QMHE/NOPB

Can you please suggest latest available (new release) speaker amplifier for new product development?

Specification:

Audio input type: Analog Input (ANALOG LINE IN)
Speaker channels : Mono
Output power (W): around 2W
SNR (dB): around 100
THD + N @ 1 kHz (%): around 0.04
Control interface: I2C
Closed/open loop: Closed
PSRR (dB): > 70

    Hi,

    There are several analog input amplifier options, for better match I'd like to ask a couple questions about the requirements:

    • What is the control interface used for? Only gain setting?
    • Is the load used 4 or 8 ohm?

    To give some options in advance, you can take a look at TPA20x devices, some of these feature I2C control interface.

    Please find answers below for your queries -

    • What is the control interface used for? Only gain setting? Yes, it is for gain setting
    • Is the load used 4 or 8 ohm? We're fine either with 4 or 8 ohm. Speaker is not yet finalized. I think 8 ohm speaker better for low power application (2W)

    Please note,

    1) I'm looking for newer release speaker amplifier.

    2) This is not for battery powered applications.

    3) BGA package to be avoided

    Hi

    Most of newer devices are BGA package, although not high pin count if layout is the concern. You may consider TPA2018D1 / TPA2028D1. TPA2016D2 is similar, in QFN package option but it's stereo.

    Other options would have both analog and digital inputs like TAS2505, TLV320DAC3100 / TLV320DAC3120.
