LM4954: Design based in LM4954

Part Number: LM4954
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2010D1

Hi TI!

I need to make a design with a speaker that has an intensity of 80dbA at a distance of 2 meters.

I selected the speaker CES-434313-28PM-67 from CUI devices (8 ohm, 106 db 0.1m, 2W), I attach the data sheet.

As output amplifier I selected LM4954.

As audio codec I selected TLV320AIC3106IRGZR.

Attached is the electrical schematic of the LM4954 connection.

I have the following questions:
1-) For the design features is the choice of the LM4954 as audio amplifier correct?
2-) Is the connection of the LM4954 with the TLV320AIC3106IRGZR correct?
3-) How much power should the LM4954 + speaker draw? According to my calculations about 350mA. Am I right?
4-) Please let me know if you detect that I am making a mistake somewhere else or if you have any suggestions.

Sincerely, thank you very much. Best regards

  • Hi, sorry for the late response, this thread was left behind.

Proposed implementation looks OK, depending on the application output power requirements some other codec with both headphone and speaker drivers could be considered. If lower voltage is available in the system, like 5V, perhaps a Class-D amplifier like TPA2010D1 can be considered instead of LM4954.

  • Hi Ivan,

I thought I had forgotten. Thank you very much for keeping my question in mind, for the answer, the help and your time!
