Is it possible to use class-d ampl to drive tec modules? In other words - are there any class-d amplifiers ICs features that prevent them from being used as drivers of TEC (DC input protection, power issues etc)?

Alexander,
There are certainly some class-D devices that will work, but I recently wrote this blog on motor drivers for TEC that you might find interesting.

Hi, Ryan, Before asking the question, I read your blog about motor drivers. In my case class-d amps more attractive because they has analog input (minimum modification for current system). Would you point me class-d amps which can drive 8...12V 3..4A TEC (without DC protection etc)?
Hi Alexander,
We actually have a dedicated line of TEC drivers! They are DRV591, DRV592, DRV593, DRV594 and DRV595.
Hope this helps!

Hi Robert,
DRV595 is great, may be best choice in my case. There is only one minus of the DRV595 - price. For example TPA3156 (in the same package) ten times cheaper. It is very attractive to adapt it to tec driving...
Hi Alexander,
When it comes to pricing, I'm certainly not the engineer to talk to. But let I'll reach out to someone who can discuss this with you.
