TAS5706B Pops

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5706B

Question: I am using the TAS5706B in my solution and it is working well.  It does exhibit a small pop at power-up.  In my system the PVDD comes on before any of the other power supplies (IE: DVDD).  Can you suggest a solution without using a power sequence?  I know that it is possible to improve this with a power sequence, but that can be expensive.

Answer: Yes, there is a simple fix for your concern.  Simply make a voltage divider comprised of an 18K resistor from your 3.3 V logic supply in series with a 15K resistor to ground.  Connect the center point of these two resistors to VR_ANA, pin 14 on the TAS5706B.  Doing this will place a 1.5V bias on VR_ANA.  Decouple the VR_ANA pin with a 0.01uF capacitor placed close to the VR_ANA pin.  Also, the above mentioned voltage divider should be placed as close to the VR_ANA as possible.
