1. How the PCM2912A connects to a differential input headphone amplifier (such as the INA1620)
2. If it works, will it generate additional distortion?
3. For the PCM2912A, is there a recommended headphone amplifier for use?
1.) The PCM2912A contains internal headphone amplifiers. Is the power not high enough? If so, you can certainly use a device like the INA1620 to increase the output drive strength. The PCM2912A has a single-ended output so you can use the INA1620 as a buffer or unity-gain difference amplifier referenced to GND.
2.) The noise and distortion performance of the INA1620 look superior to the PCM2912A so it shouldn't cause noticeable decreases in performance
3.) Either use the internal headphone amplifiers or use a device like the INA1620. You could also use a standard audio amplifier like the OPA1611 or OPA1678.
Regarding the connection of PCM2912 to INA1620, I have some questions: how to connect correctly.
Regarding the single-ended input of a differential op amp, is there a reference circuit or design?
