ADC32RF45: Absolute max RMS power

Part Number: ADC32RF45

Hello,

I was just curious what a reliable setting would be for the RMS power detector threshold so that if it ever exceeded that level and I immediately turned off the input signal, I would not damage the ADC. The data sheet says AVDD19 + 0.3 is the max input power. Is this pulsed power or CW over a few seconds? Is there a good rule of thumb for how much power it can take past full scale and for how long?

Thank you

  • Hi Jacob,

Unfortunately, once the input power is exceeded this goes beyond the process limitations that we can guarantee for this device. Subjecting the ADC analog input above the max input power, even only slightly, this does start to breakdown the internal devices.

    Regards,
