ADS7138-Q1: Product spec and test condition inquiry

Part Number: ADS7138-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS7138,

Hi, TI Support Team

A customer wants to use the ADS7138 as a replacement for the ADS7138-Q1.

The temperature spec listed on the datasheet appears to be the same.

Is the same temperature spec correct?

Additionally, the test conditions seem to be different for ESD tests.

Of course, I think that the test site or test institution will be different for Automotive products, but how can you check the test conditions are different?

Please inquire because there is a difference in the authentication number and test type written on the datasheet.

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hello,

the datasheets hold the most accurate information, the catalog part does seem to be rated for a higher temperature rating than most catalog parts.

As for ESD testing, the -Q1 rated device does go through a different test, as required for automotive rated devices. The test conditions are dictated by external requirements set by  ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001 compliance.   one major difference is AEC Q100 requires 750V spec on corner pins
