ADS131M08EVM: LOG data to file continuously

Hii.

It looks like the EVM GUI does  provide continuous save to file for samples , but only in small 16384KB files.

Is this expected ?

  • Hi Ryan, thanks a lot for your support here. They are two aspects to this question and which are: 1) confirm that the size of the file is right, 2) It is very common to make real time measurements on ADS, in order to simulate the behavior of a meter. This point is even more important if we do signal processing. I was wondering about the solution that you suggest for the realtime evaluation of the ADS131Mxx. Could we think of a DLL? Rgds, Eric

    The file size seems to be expected. I'm working to clarify whether this includes channel data only or also STATUS and CRC words as well. All words are treated as 32 bits in the PHI. Therefore, 16,384 kB equates to 409,600 or 512,000 samples, depending on whether there are 8 or 10 words per frame saved to the file. I believe these should be contiguous samples between data files.

    I have not been able to reproduce the error message yet, but perhaps it is also related to the number of samples to be collected.

    We do not have plans to support continuous real-time streaming of data. It is not a limitation of the daughterboard, but rather our data capture platform and software. The data logging feature is provided to collect and save large sample sizes for post processing. Any further development should be done using the customer's own data capture platform and software.
