ADS7250: are 2 SPI interfaces required for ADS7250?

Part Number: ADS7250

Since SDO-A and SDO-B represent 2 the results of the 2 ADC, do we also need to use 2 SPI interface from MCU to get the results?

Besides, we are not quite clear about the configurations for AINM and REFIN. Since they are connected together, does the voltage of REFIN represent the input common voltage of ADC? Is there an example circuit for the voltage sensing of the DC bus?

  • Hello Aki,

    Thank you for your post.

Yes, the MCU will need to have two available SPI peripherals. /CS and SCLK can be shared.

Since the ADS7250 is a pseudo-differential ADC, the negative channel input is expected to be equal to the reference voltage +/- 100 mV. This allows the positive input to swing from 0 V to 2xVref. Therefore, REFIN behaves as the ADC reference voltage and the input common-mode voltage.

Can you tell us more about the application and bus voltage range that you're trying to measure?

    Regards,

    Ryan
