ADS54J60: Input impedance

Part Number: ADS54J60
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSW54J60EVM

Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.

The input impedance that is specified as 600 Ohms, but it will be fed by either a differential amplifier with 50 Ohms output, or an instrumentation amplifier with an impedance that can be defined by the circuit we will put it in. How much of a concern would be the impedance mismatch if we want voltage pulses with a 100 ns width to be properly acquired ?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Danilo,

Figure 58 of the datasheet shows the analog input equivalent circuit which can be used for spice simulation.

TI offers a TSW54J60EVM EVM, which allows for the evaluation of the ADS54J60 along with front-end amplifiers, which act together to provide a 400 MHz Input Bandwidth Digitizer. This could be an option to test your application before developing your own board.

You can also get more info regarding this interface by contacting the High Speed Amplifier forum.

    Regards,

    Jim
