    Hi Martina,

    Welcome to the E2E forum !!!

    For the AC-couple ECG system, the input channels are biased to the common-mode voltage with the RLD amplifier output or mid-supply through the 10M Ohms pull-up resistors. What is the purpose of the RLD connection to the ECG_N side post the blocking capacitor?

    It is best to add external ESD protection for the device and not rely on the internal ESD diodes for protection. However, the overall input protection scheme will base on the end product classification of the product/design you wish to build. The ADS1291 does not offer any internal ‘patient protection’ circuitry.
