Hi,

  I wanted to understand the difference between ADS131E08S and ADS131E08. Can i use ADS131E08S as a drop-in replacement for ADS131E08. I have an evaluation module for ADS131E08 which i have been using. I suspect that ADS131E08 IC has gone bad. Can i replace it with ADS131E08S and still use this card with MMB0 motherboard.

    Hello Girish,

    Thank you for your post.

    These two devices share the same interface and register map. Therefore, replacing the ADS131E08S on the ADS131E08EVM should work fine. 

    The only difference between them is the way we run our test program and how we've characterized the device performance. You'll notice in section 11 of each data sheet that the Power-on Reset timing and the recommended external bypass capacitors are very different. The ADS131E08S is specifically targeted towards metering applications which require very fast startup timing (< 3 ms).
