Can you please let me know the HART protocol version used in DAC8742H Hart Modem.

Also please share any reference analysis sheet for external filter design of DAC8742.

We have a TI design writeup for Highly Accurate, Loop-Powered, 4- to 20-mA Field Transmitter With HART Modem Reference Design. This TI design uses the DAC8740H (which is the same as the DAC8742H but with fewer features). At the end of the writeup, we show the HART certification and the HART Protocol Revision is 7.

For the external filter, we don't have an analysis sheet for the external filter design. However, I would check section 8.1.3 and follow the filter shown in figure 32 of the datasheet.

Please let us know DAC8742H supports HART protocol version 7 or above.

Abishek,

The design we did for the DAC8740H did support protocol version 7, and therefore the DAC8742H would support it as well. I'm not aware of any newer versions. However, I will say that we haven't done any retesting of this device for any new versions of the HART protocol.
