ADS7046: Which EVM to modify

Hi Team,

my customer uses ADS7046 in his project. Since we have no EVM for this device, is it possible to modify/equip one of these EVMs to the ADC:

If yes, which modifications would the customer has to make.

Hi Jan,

Let me see if I can find a suitable replacement or option to use. I know there are several devices within the same family that are P2P compatible but not sure if we can replace these with the ADS7046. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Again, I apologize for the wait and appreciate your patience. The single-ended devices in the same family such as the ADS7049-Q1 or ADS7042 EVMs are a good option option for single-ended devices like the ADS7046:

Hi Aaron,

thanks. Can you give a brief overview on what the customer has to modify? I guess just replacing the ADS7042/9 with ADS7046 is not enough?

Hi Jan,

The ADS7049 and ADS7042 are identical to the ADS7046 except for the sampling rates so the ADS7046 should be able to directly replace the other devices. However, if the ADS7046 (3Msps) replaces the ADS7049 (2Msps), for example, I believe the software will limit the ADS7046 to 2Msps.
