DAC80501EVM: DAC80501M - Switching from power down mode to normal mode doesn't work

Part Number: DAC80501EVM

I am running DAC80501EVM in SPI mode with wires connected to my main board. (VDD 3.3V, VREF 2.5 Externally connected with REF_DIV and GAIN_MUL set to 1 each)

I am running all operations as normal until I change operating mode to power down mode i.e. 0x030101 (The DACOUT doesn't go to 0 but goes to 1.6V instead. the part on EVM is midscale 'M')

Second question is when I switch back to normal mode i.e. 0x030100 (The DACOUT goes to 0 but no further writes can update the DACOUT until the POR is issued)

When DAC is in power down mode the DACOUT stays at 1.6V and toggles between 0 and 1.6V along with SYNC signal i.e. when SYNC is low DACOUT goes 0 and when SYNC is high DACOUT is 1.6V.

I didn't see any explanation to this behavior in datasheet. Please some expert explain this to me, I want to use power down mode to reduce power consumption in my design.

Thanks,

Gaurav
