ADS7038-Q1: PIN11 TO PIN14 between the DVDD diode and internal structure

Part Number: ADS7038-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer wonder to know this part his Pin11 to Pin14 between DVDD has diode or not ?

Because he see the datasheet Figure 8-1 can see the GPIO between the AVDD has a diode on there.

So he wonder to know the DVDD side also have it or not and that will impact the DVDD voltage come to SPI side have a diode voltage gap in there.

They just want to verify this question ,please give us some idea to fix his concern.

If possible , Please share the picture which can show the internal structure to see the DVDD to PIN11~PIN14 in detail. Thanks!

Eddie

  • Hello,

The diode is part of the ESD protection scheme, the diode will turn on and redirect any current from the input pints to AVDD if the voltage at the input pins over exceeds the AVDD voltage. The DVDD pin also has a ESD protection scheme, but there is no diode voltage gap, as the customer mentioned to worry about, it will not interfere with normal operation.

  • Hi Cynthia,

    Thanks your common.

My customer still  ask me . They want to see the internal structure picture for SYNC/SCLK/DIN/VA pin and pin11/12/13/14 to DVDD.

Because they didn't see on our datasheet.

As you mentioned just AVDD side have this diode for defense input ESD, all the other pin didn't have it , right ?

  • Eddie,

The DVDD side does have similar ESD present, which does have diodes, but there is no diode voltage gap as long as specifications are followed. It will not interfere with normal operation.
