DAC8742HEVM: How to configure the EVM to communicate with SPI

Part Number: DAC8742HEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hi,

I wanted to communicate to the DAC8742HEVM with another microcontroller through SPI interface, and at the same time wanted to still have it connected to the USB2ANY interface so i can observe the transactions on the PC.  Is this even possible, and if so, would you please indicate which jumpers to connect to?  I was reading through SLAU700a documentation but could not find any reference on how such configuration can be carried out.  Thanks in advance for any inputs!

Regards,

Jay

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching us.  i will help you on this request.

    1. Use can use (1) J6 connector to connect your own micro controller SPI signals and use JP4 jumper position (1-2) to disable the USB2ANY interface then drive from your MCU.

    2. Want to use USB2ANY interface, disable chip select from micro controller and enable JP4 jumper postion (2-3) and use USB2ANY interface.

make sure IOVDD should be same for both interface

    Thanks .
