AMC7834: daisy chain

Part Number: AMC7834
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE10004

Hi,

My customer need assistance.

I’m interested in using multiple copies of AMC7834 in a daisy chain connection. I read from other forums that certain chips may not allow daisy chain connections. I’m wondering if AMC7834 supports such connection.

Please help. Thanks.

  • Hi Chong,

The AMC7834 does not support daisy-chain mode.  The device does not act as a shift register like other devices that support daisy-chain.  It requires that packets be 24-bits long.

    Thanks,

    Paul

  • Hi, Paul.

    My customer replied:

Paul, thank you for a quick answer. Do you have any components that can do a similar job with daisy chaining?

I was planning to use these chips to digitally control the biasing of multiple GaN PAs (set negative gate biases and measure drain currents) and daisy chain SPI seemed to be simple.

If you have any other suggestion, I’d be happy to hear it.

  • Hi Chong,

Unfortunately, all of our PA biasing devices do not support daisy-chain.  Our AFE10004 does support I2C though, which can share a central bus.

    Thanks,

    Paul
